She has more than 7 years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy to adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health diagnoses. Jenny completed her practicum training at Dolores Mission School as well as The Help Group. After graduation she continued work at the Help Group as a full-time Outpatient Therapist in Van Nuys. There she received the California MFT Community Mental Health State Stipend Award in 2012.
During her time at The Help Group she was trained in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and utilized this evidence based treatment with children, adolescents, and their families. She found that her knowledge and experience in the Art Therapy modality was very beneficial in Trauma treatment, and witnessed very positive outcomes. After licensure, Jenny helped to develop an Intensive Treatment Program for post 9/11 Military Veterans struggling with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury at UCLA. There she provided evidence based trauma treatment, CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), as well as DBT and ACT informed skills training. She also created and currently facilitates the Art Therapy curriculum for the program which offers an alternative path to interpersonal healing and connection between the veterans and their families.
Jenny also spent time in Portland, OR and worked as a primary therapist with the Providence St. Vincent Eating disorder program. There she had the opportunity to utilize her art therapy knowledge and experience working with anxiety, depression, and trauma to help patients along their path towards recovery.
