Reuben is an avid lover of sports and lifelong athlete. He played football, soccer and pole vaulted before focusing on his professional career. This background gave him great insight into pushing the body and mind to its limits. Having sustained several concussions, he knew early on how profound and important the role of brain health played in cognitive performance. His intrigue in the relationship between brain health and cognitive performance led him to a Neuroscience mentorship with Dr. Mary Helen Immordino-Yang, co-Director of the Brain & Creativity Institute. Under her tutelage, he learned how her research, known as Embodied Cognition, could inform programs and curriculum on the role of emotional intelligence and skill acquisition in leveraging prosocial behaviors and outcomes. Armed with this toolkit of Athletics and Affective Neuroscience, Reuben was an ideal choice for Neurofeedback training by Dr. Yoshi Rahm, where he learned the Clear Minds System, the Nexus, and the BrainMaster units. Reuben also founded a nonprofit called Project Action Art designed to bring a fusion of Spoken Word Poetry and Neuroscience presentation to rehabilitation facilities. In 2017, he presented this work at the Learning & The Brain conference in Boston. Reuben hopes that his extensive passion for brain health and prosocial behaviors will be a valuable resource for all who put their trust in Resolutions Therapeutic Services.
