Tara received a Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica in August 2006 and a second Master of Arts degree from Phillips Graduate Institute with an MA in Counseling Psychology in 2012. In addition to the acquired degrees, Tara is also a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, a licensed substance abuse counselor through CAADAC, a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and has completed several online and in person Dialectical Behavioral Therapy trainings.
Tara began her career in residential treatment centers addressing co-occurring disorders from 2008-2014. She has provided individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling and psychoeducational groups over a wide variety of topics.
Bringing a deep, personal appreciation of the therapeutic process, Tara specializes in providing care for individuals addressing substance use disorders, trauma and personality disorders. She integrates and applies Mindfulness interventions, Somatic Experiencing, Trauma Resiliency Model, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and family systems work into her clinical interventions.
